redefining fast fashion.
Did you know that in the UK each year we throw away more than a million tonnes of clothing? Well, we do! And £140 million-worth of clothing ends up in landfill.
Don’t like those numbers? Nor do we.
Enter, the Norwich Fashion Jam.
In 2016 we started a movement. For Norwich Fashion Week 2016 we set out to show that Fashion can champion creativity and diversity without damaging our beautiful world. In fact, Fashion can be a powerful voice for social change! We wanted local creatives to capture our vision and make steps to change the fashion-scape for the better...
... So we did! And now we're back, with big, jangly (sustainably-crafted) bells on for Norwich Fashion Week 2017!
On Friday March 10th at The Forum, Norwich, starting at 6pm, we will embark upon a 24-hour challenge to create catwalk-ready fashion collections, purely from upcycled and re-styled charity shop clothing, donated by two amazing local charities: The Big C, Norfolk's Cancer Charity and Age UK Norwich.
On Monday 13th March at the iconic Norwich Castle, we will showcase the results of The Challenge to the public-at-large, with a few added surprises, too!
We need your help to pull this off, though folks. We are seeking teams who are up for the challenge! To find out more about how to be a part of the movement and enter The Challenge, click here!
